Two aspects shaped me: The experience of growing up in the countryside, in nature; and the widening of my imagination via theological and philosophical art books that my parents had at home.

The landscape I inhabited, the expanse, the freedom, and the isolation combined with an imagination stocked with exciting images of phantasia and symbolism, amongst others, left me with an impression of melancholy and a sense of longing. Constantly searching and exploring the boundaries between irrealism and realism.
